Hi neighbor,

Water and stormwater keep coming up as the biggest issue in town, so here's a quick rundown from Commissioner Victoria Bruce's record.

What the city inherited. Before 2022, Winter Springs had two wastewater plants more than 50 years old, plus a stormwater fund that had been running at a structural deficit for years.

What she voted for in 2025 and 2026: - The new East plant at $65.8 million, under the city's $72.8 million estimate - A $19.1 million hurricane recovery loan, with about $9.5 million forgiven - Funding for pond crews and flooding fixes at Wetland Park and Tuskawilla Crossings

What's next, according to her campaign: - A push for a 12-month pause on the next water and sewer increases - Finishing the East plant on time and on budget - Lining up the cheapest money for the West plant

The problems were real, and they're getting fixed. If water bills or flooding matter to your household, this one is worth a look.
